Our Commitment to Health & Safety
At Embossed Construction Ltd, we take Health & Safety very seriously. We use an independent Health & Safety Advisor to ensure our sites meet the standards required by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). 50% of our employees have received formal Site Management Safety Training to allow them to safely manage projects of all sizes, ensuring that everyone who may be affected by our work is kept safe. We have our own Scaffold Inspector who carries out formal inspections of our scaffolds on at least a weekly basis. We also have our own in-house First Aid Trainer, along with our own Cat B-qualified Asbestos-Removal Team. As required by law, all of our staff receive annual asbestos-awareness training. This enables them to identify potential ACM's (Asbestos-Containing Materials) and take the appropriate action to ensure the safety of everyone involved. We carry out our own in-house face-fit testing to ensure our team are provided with the correct RPE (Respiratory Protective Equipment). We have PASMA-trained staff who ensure mobile access towers are erected to the required standard. Training in the correct use of abrasive wheels, such as grinders and disc-cutters, has also been provided to our team, ensuring their safety and the safety of anyone affected by their work.
In 2014 Embossed Construction Ltd was the subject of a surprise inspection by the HSE. The site being inspected, case study here, was an extensive refurbishment (including asbestos-removal works and structural alterations) of an NHS psychological treatment facility which we was to be used as a Children's Day Nursery. No problems were identified and the inspector left after just 20 minutes with nothing but positive remarks about the way we operate.
